It’s been so hard to put into words
The way my feelings toward you have changed.
To be able to express it, not just in feelings,
Has felt almost impossible.
Yet, it all came to me today
Finally clicked when I least expected it.
So here it goes:
With you, there are always terms and conditions.
When you try and make plans, you always think to yourself:
“How will this benefit me?”
It never feels like you are being selfless.
It always needs to benefit you in some way.
Even my existence is only useful to you,
For how I make you feel.
Laughing at your jokes, encouraging your commitments,
It’s just all been about you.
Each little moment has always been
All about you.
And I’m just not here for it anymore.
