She walks in the middle of the street at night
No friends or strangers in sight
It’s just dark enough to feel even more alone
It’s just cold enough to wish she were safe at home.
Nobody tells you how hard it is to evolve
To willingly expose parts of yourself you don’t love
Day by day, to examine your essence
And change and change to reach your magnificent florescence.
She covers her hands with the sleeves of her sweater,
Lets out a big sigh, and trudges forward.
On, into the dark, empty night.
For she knows the dawn is near
And it’s nearly time to bloom.
